RE: most shots taken to kill a deer?
Three. It happened this year. I thought I missed on the first shot but I watched it go around a hill with a couple does. It had a broken back leg which was just hanging and flopping around after it can back into view from around the hill. It wasn't broke when it disappeared after I shot. I don't know if I hit it or not. The buckmay have broken it's leg while it was running.Theground was very rocky and uneven. Anyway, I watched and tracked to whereit went and waited for a little while. I put the stack on it and put two shots through it's heart to finish it off real quick. Ihave been told that a deer can still survive with a broken back leg, butI feel that I owe to the deer to finish him if it is wounded or hurt.
