That still doesn't excuse him from putting the duck in the fridge alive. He probably figured it would die from freezing to death or suffocation. Ducks are designed for cold temps, so I hope he didn't think it was going to freeze. Why would he want to mount a Ringneck hen anyway? Not one of the most beautiful ducks around.
