Default RE: Myth Busters and Scent Control

Atlas,
I'm think what you are expecting is a research paper done by some lab just because they descided to check on scent-Lok products.
I would never expect that.........because I know it doesn't exist.

The second link I provided you was independent lab study. Yes, Scent-Lok paid the bill. I don't think I want to ..do you?
The inherent bias involved with paying a company to do your testing......and dictating how the test is performed negates any value from the resultant data. It was also not a "study". It was a "test" that was dictated by the company that paid the bill and no details of methods were even given. The document has handwriting on it for cryin' out loud.

As far as peer reviews are concerned, I believe you will trust only yourself. I'm sure you've read reviews both pro and con , and you choose to believe the con. That's o.k. I don't believe allthe reviews I read either.
I don't think you understand what I mean by peer review. It has nothing to do with hunters. It is a way for research to be examined by qualified people in the field to keep poor data from ever being published. You submit your study for peer review and it is sent out to various reviewers for critique........then corrections can be made by the authors or certain points clarified. This can go back and forth for quite some time and often the study never gets published. Basically it is a way to keep the integrity of publsihed data as high as possible........so misinformation does not creep into what are considered to be references of scientific facts. Last month I was part of a team that reviewed a study that has been trying to get published in JAMA for what seems like forever..........and there were still problems. Getting published is not an easy task.

Does it matter who paid for it?
Yes

One more thing. Of all the "PROS" out there that use Scent-Lok and those that don't , why did you choose to believe what Michael Corrigan said?
I don't believe him.........or not believe others. That is the beauty of science. It is just right and wrong. You don't need faith or belief in gravity, convection, osmosis, conduction, force, inertia, friction, or any other law of science..........they just are. Carbon is no exception.

There are more pros that use the stuff and pay for it themselves than I care to mention.
Who wears the stuff is really of no concern to me when trying to evaluate the science of the suits. I don't think shaping your opinion based on what some hunting "pro" is wearing is a very good way to go.

Again, I'll keep u posted on my findings.
Thanks
