Be aware that the Automobile Insurance Companies are a big reason NJ has such liberal bag limits on deer. The deer/auto collisions in this state are higher than ever and its costing the Ins. Co's millions in their precious dollars. They lobby the feds to boost limits so herds are smaller, ergo less deer to be hit by cars.
Also, our coyote populations are growing at such a rate that fawn kills are are up somewhere near 20%. Add black bear fawn kills and that equals even more deer.
I've seen plenty of deer this year and shot a nice 6 pt second day of 6 day firearm. Let alot of does and a Y buck walk.
I hunt zone 5 and 13. Lots of 'yotes in 5!
I'd opt for a trophy limitation of 3 points per side if it would make a difference on a large scale. Best bucks I see are on private land; small 10 acre parcels with houses on all sides! Bow territory!!!
