Default RE: info. on crossbow

I too am disabled and use a crossbow in place of a traditional bow. I have a state issued exemption allowing me to do this. I too use a barnett crossbow with 150LB. draw back . I use a regular "rifle" 3X9 wide angle scope on my crossbow and can consistently hit the vital area of my target at up to 75 yards away easily. After that it begins to range some according to hunting conditions, weather conditions etc... I use 125 grain RAZORBAK-3 broadheads on my arrows.I like to use these because they are self aligning in flight and have supurb penetration. My Barnette is a Wildcat version and shoots 265 feet per sec. and is a recurve type. There are 2 main things to remember when using crosbows. 1 keep the string WAXED good and often. 2nd. when Practicing on a target use the type of broadheads you plan to use during your hunting trip. makes for more consistent shooting when practicing with the same broadheads. Last but definately not the least, I always keep 1 arrow with a field point on it in my quiver, so that when I am done hunting, I can shoot at a rotten tree stump to release my bow. DO NOT EVER DRY FIRE A CROSSBOW!!!!!!!!! [email protected] . I may be reached here for email or also hotmails IM also the same addy, if you have any other questions. I have used the same crossbow for about 15 years only replacing the string occassionally. Mine new was $129.99 then not including the scope and arrows with broadheads. This is just to let you know a basic price range. Hope this helps you any. Jimmy.
