RE: Open seasons on coyotes
Many predator hunters I know in my areado not generally hunt coyotes in late springor throughout the summer. Days are usually too hot to call anything in and everyone is usually busy fishing. As to whether or not it is inhumane, I would say yes and no. Yes, because it always makes people feel awful when a young animal dies, especially from starvation. And, I say no because I have grown up with the mindset that a good coyote is a dead coyote, largely due to the rather large sheep herd that my grandparents have. You don't know damage until you lose a handful of livestock every few weeks to a hungry coyote.
