Default Disappearing deer

Had a co worker hunter come back yesterday from a several week hunting vacation on local PUBLIC land in NE Connecticut. First he did get a nice 190 lb 12 point actually a nice 10 with 5 " and larger tines. The brow tines were double with one point each broken thus 10 or 12? Anyway Mike goes out next to fill his doe tag for meat. I will leave out detail to keep this short. Mike hits a doe at 40 yards, sabot slug, and it runs off. Trails it for a long way through a swamp where he breaks through ice, wet feet and legs, its about 25 degrees out. Keeps up the trailing and gets a shot at the river bank. The doe takes a couple of big jumps into the river, the river is a 100 yards wide. Mike sees the deer out 10 feet or so floating down current when presto it sinks and is gone. He considered some swimming and diving but good sense got the better of him as he was already wet, cold and alone. Have a nice Xmass One Shot One Kill Striper Phil Guess I should have put this in camp stories
