I own the Equalizer and am not sure what shock you are speaking of. I have the S-coil on mine and it's even more quiet. You stated that it had a bisquit and drop zone rest. Why 2 rests? That may be why you recieved a little hand shock or not. You may be torqing(sp) upon release. Not sure. Best of luck.
