Default RE: Now that was fun

im with cayugad. heard toooo many bad things about wooden ramrods. ie..guys getting stuck in the hand or arm.

i bought a composite one a while ago. its like a plastic. came with one end tapped to 10-32. had my buddy take it to machine shop with him and he cut it to legnth and put in brass and cross pinned it so itll NEVER come out and tapped that for me as well. best dang ram rod ive used yet. itll bend ALOT..ive bent it in a hard arch just to see and its fine. keep a jag/loading tip on one end. the other end i usually attach my T handle to it when pulling balls or cleaning. havent got around to buying a good cleaning rod yet.

ive bent cheap hollow alumanum rods and even bent a solid brass rod. a nice solid brass rod came with my rifle. i liked it and it looked good with the brass hardware of my hawken but it was bent and one of the tapped ends was 8-32 and wouldnt work for me. i mananged to bend it more and finally gave up on it. i want another one though just for looks. for practicallity ill stick with my plastic one. having both ends tapped is definently handy

glad to hear you werent injured!
