I got both, and I say no. I shoot 160gr accubond at 3150fps thru the STW, and shoot 180gr BT thru the 300Win mag at 3050fps. The STW has a slight edge on bullistics and bullet drop but loses in energy, throat errosion, and bullet selectibility.

So I decided I needed both and very happy with my decision.

I know the for the 300 with 180gr BT, my SD=.271, BC=.507 and for my STW and 160gr, my SD=.283 and BC=.531. So the STW has a decent SD, and better Bullistic coef. And I am launching at well over 100fps faster.

Feeding that into my Infinitiy program, with a 250yard zero, 2.4" high at 100 yards, I get bullet POI of -3.3 at 300, -14.18" at 400, and -31.55" at 500 with the 300win and energy levels of 1854ft-lbs at 500 yards.

With a 160gr Accubond out of my 7mmSTW with with a 250yard zero, 2.15" high at 100 yards, I get bullet POI of -3" at 300, -13" at 400, and -28.85" at 500 with energys of 1834ft-lbs at 500 yards.
