Default RE: Bore Butter

Seasoning.. I hear this all the time. I season a cast iron fry pan. I have no intention of seasoning a rifle barrel. Now if bore butter is used as some of the posters on here do, I am sure the results are excellent. I just do not have the time to figure this out, or just unlucky when I tried. All I ever got with bore butter is tobacco colored patches when I first swabbed the barrel. That to me indicated something was wrong with my procedure.

Bore Butter IMO is a good conial and patch lube. Nothing more. I use a good quality gun oil to protect the rifle bore after I have cleaned it. Again, just my opinion and you do what you want with your rifles.
