You can rig a "relaxing snare" that grabs the game but loosens slightly to avoid suffocating it by attaching or forming a stop on the wire the same way you would rig a bobber stop for fishing . Large split shots make a good stop , just swage them tightly onto the wire with some pliers , it takes some practice to get the loop size right though . Rabbits can be lured into snares or traps with apple pieces , carrot greens , and other similar foods . I use apple for live traps but you'll get the occasional small coon or possum , carrot greens are usually only appealing to rabbits and make a good lure . Ironically , they go for the greens but won't usually eat carrots IME . LOL
