RE: Kimber vs. Sako 85
Here's my $.02. I have a Sako 75 in 30/06 and a Kimber 84M in .308. I like them both but each have +'s and -'s. The Kimber is lighter and has the 3 position (model 70 type) safety which I love. The Sako has a 2 position push safety and does feel heavier and / or blocky. For me, the Sako is more accurate and steadier to hold. I don't reload so it's all factory stuff. The Sako has been @ 1 inch no problem on a varied diet. The Kimber has had no malfunctions at all, but has been closer to 1.5 inches. I have some Corbon DPX 130's on order to try and see how the Kimber likes them. I've not shot a Sako 85, but did fondle one at the gun store a while back. It was very nice! The Grey Wolf's are dandy, seemed even heavier than the wooden stocked models but were well put together. If the Grey Wolf was available with the 3 position safety I'd buy one tomorrow. For me, Sako is #1 and Kimber is #2.
