sproulman,
The number of days hunting will not affect the number of does killed. There will only be a certain number of doe tags issued for a WMU.
The GC has addressed the hunter concerns by CUTTING BACK doe tags for 2G this year and will probably againfor 2007, not increase them.
I for one do not have the luxury of taking as much time off as you do. The time I do have I save for archery season. With the average persons' work schedule the vastmajority of hunters I know , both gun and bow, want Sunday hunting. They work longer hours and have family commitments during the week.
If I can hunt other species of game on Sunday , why not another.
because its deer..lets talk a little and i have to say you all have been very nice on your comments on here, even if we disagree..this is best site i have been on..
here we go..right now, say its nasty weather on sat.both sat of 2 week of doe..in comes hunters for sat hunt, only day you get off..now you cant hunt sunday..bad weather caused bad hunting..
from a looking at saving a doe point of view, not having sunday hunting saved many doe..
you said about doe permits..first it should be county permits not 8 countys ..wmu are too big ,it should go back old way..if we want to save our deer..
next, dont forget the dmaps etc..
we ALL went thru work schedule thing, been there done it and still do it..
when it was 2 weeks of buck, 3 day of doe,i used to take first 2 days off of buck, then sat off, then next sat off, then 2 days of doe ..thats 6 days to hunt, that was always fine with me..if you look thats only 1 week of your vacation if used like i did..
like said, if there was lots of deer like 40 years ago,i have no problem with sunday hunting..
but with lack of deer, i want ones left to have a day of rest and that is one day that us hunters will not be able to kill a doe or fawn..
we have to wake up and understand, we just cant keep killing all these deer and expect to have deer in future..i would not be talking this way if i did not see end to hunting DEER..
