RE: A Guide's Tips on Blood Trailing
I shot a doe this year with my bow and made all the rookie mistakes at bloodtrailing, except im not a rookie, i should have know better. Im lucky i found the deer. First i didnt give it long enough i ran after it with 10 minutes, because i saw it fall about 50 yards away. Then put my release away and had another shot at it when it got up and run. And i kept leaving the bloodtrail when i would see the deer and then i would loose it again. Ive tracked a good many deer and for some reason i just forgot everything for awhile there. Luckily the last few deer i shot with my new 7mm mag i didnt have to worry bout tracking, the ones that did run didnt go far and left a trail that was hard to miss.
