RE: ? ON ROOSTING
Turkeys can do just about anything they choose to. I have seen birds fly up just at dark from deer stands and listened to them move from tree to tree after it was dark. They seem to be just about like a dog turning in cirlcles trying to get situated, trying to find that perfect limb to roost on. I have also bumped more birds between me and the gobbling bird I was headed to than I care to recall, mostly back in the timber. They had no choice but to land in another tree in the dark. It stands to reason that if a bird started high on a ridge and the wind picked up drastically, he would likely choose to move down off the ridge even if it were dark. I would think this might be the perfect set up since the birds may have become disoriented from the other birds exact locations.
