Ive bumped roosting bird's lot's of times,and they have no qualms about flying at night.Kind of makes you wonder how they see to land,and how many get messed up trying to re-roost in pitch dark.Im guessing the birds that you speak of moved because of something that spooked them,like mabey falling limb's.
