By the time I was 10 I had already shot at thousands of clays with a shotgun and a .22! He prepaired me well and I thank him for it to this day!
You shot clays with a .22? That would require some skill. But it's definately possible.
I also used to shoot clay with a .22...still do on occasion.
We used to throw walnuts for each other too.
It used to be common for folks to use rimfire for rabbits and such.
I remember an old gentleman from my childhood that used a Remington autoloader .22 for quail...he shot them when they leveled out after coming off ground. I personaly seen him kill 3 with 3 shots.
