stubblejumper- I will agree with what you are saying. Will a well placed shot from a 270/30-06 class rifle not take down a 300 pound buck? In comparing numbers, just how much more range would a 7mm rem mag and a 300 win mag have over the 270 and 30-06? This is a good question for yall that know ballistics much better than I.
