RE: 1924 Winchester Model 12
To my knowledge the only difference between high and low brass is aesthetics. High brass was a marketing scheme to give the illusion of more power. Stick to 2 3/4 inch shells. Steel shot doesn't mix well with older guns or the full choke. Stick to non-toxic shot like Bismuth if you do a lot of waterfowl hunting. Anything else should be OK. I have never seen one trade for as much as DG quotes but 300 to 400 Canadian is a fair price assuming it is the standard grade.
