Default RE: Another One!!!!

Congratulations!
I got my first ever bowkill this year. It is my first year bowhunting too. I hunted for three weeks in camo with complete gear. Went out in the morning one day with no luck. Came in and showered and dressed for work. I look out the window and there's two does! I grab the bow (no camo, gear or trigger release) and sneak out to the doorway. As I'm getting ready to aim a small 8 point starts towards the does then changed his mind like he knew something was up. So I aim at the doe giving me the best shot. I miss but the does just stand there. The next shot hit a twig and went about 30 feet high. Shot three sent both does running. I didn't see the arrow hit so I came inside to set the bow down. I look out the window and about 25 yards into the woods I see the deer down. It took a long time to die and that bothered me. When my hubby and I went to get it we could see that I shot it thru the chest or bottom of the neck - about 6 or 7 inches in front of the heart. I suppose it got the jugular. We figure that the distance of the shot was about 30 yards. So, now hubby asks why I spent all this money on gear when I didn't need it? I want to get my buck actually in the woods where I can feel the thrill of the hunt.
There is definitely a thrill to it. One week into the fall season I had a huge 8 plus point buck walk right up to me. I was so excited and shaking that my arrow came off the rest! I will never forget the feeling though. Very exciting...and then very dejected as I walked home crying<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>
