Default RE: Would you take this shot???

Ray.....a few posts back you mentioned not posting a photo of a small buck. I hope you reconsider. I'd be one of the firsts to congratulate you on ANY deer harvested with your bow. Congrats if I missed it....and NEVER hold back on us!! We love to see them all.

The guy who posted this on the MAthews board was aiming EXACTLY for the spot he hit (he claims). No jumping string or turning on the shot. He says he was aiming for the spot he hit.

I posted a thread to ask the moderators what they thought of the shot. One of them .....a guy named Vince who often boasts of 55+ yd shots on deer.....replied that it's an ethical shot.....and deleted my thread. No biggie.....bu t he then went on this guy's thread and posted that it's ethical and a good shot for bowhunters to take. I responded in the thread with this:

There's not a one of us who can't make that shot......the difference in some of us is whether or not we'd attempt it. I took 5 whitetails with my bow, this season.....and I'd never attempt that shot.

You're condoning a shot where your PREFERRED entrance wound is in the ham of your quarry. I am EXTREMELY surprised to see a moderator of the Mathews bowhuntingboard not only condone this shot....but promote it.

I see MANY "I shot a deer and I can't find him" threads in this board's future. These animals deserve better than this. My "other" post on this same subject was to feel the pulse of the moderators. I now know the inmates are running the assylum.
