Thanks for the replies guys.

I have also never heard the "buck growl"," but couldnt find anything better to do with that gift card so hey what the heck, Ill try it out next year durring the rut and see what happens.

A couple of you mentiond that it might scare away young deer. Ill keep that in mind when using it and maybe carry a regular grunt tube along to.
I did hear a buck "roar" this fall, but it was too dark to "roar" back. He was herding a doe around in the multiflora rose thicket I was hunting next to. It wasn't your normal tending grunt, either.

One of the reasons (besides my friends having good luck with theirs) that I bought the Primos Buck Roar was that my old grunt tube was purchased in 1984? and sounded more like a sick mallard than a buck.

I used the new Primos more as a grunt tube than a roar, successfully calling in the first two bucks I tried it on. Then I felt really stupid with 1.5 year old bucks that I had no intentions of shooting standing around under my tree.

I'd only use the "roar" to enrage a dominant buck who comes to run off the intruder. I helped drag out my buddies buck and it was a dandy!

Also, aren't we talking twenty bucks here?
