I think it looks neat but I also am liking having a wooden riser now that I've converted to a recurve. It's lighter and warmer. If you want a metal riser bow try looking at the Quinn Stallion (
http://www.quinnsarchery.com/). It's around $190 new and a lot of good things have been said about it. For a little more you can get a Chek-Mate but those are all wood risers.
Check out the classified section here and thoseat some all traditional websites for some used bows. You may be able to afford a nicer used bow thananew bow.
