Default RE: Is deer meat really needed?

For most people, I don't think deer meat is needed. But then there is so much in our lives these days that are not really needed. Last week we lost power in an ice storm for over 3 days. That simple, short lesson can wake you up on what is important. For the most, deer meat costs more than beef due to licenses, gear, special camo (in our head), gas to/from, leases, etc, etc. But in my simple opinion, it is this:

We have seperated ourselves so far from reality. Deer hunting gives us a chance to "simulate" the days when we had to actually go out and get food for our family. I think for men, it's a sub-conscience activity to provide for our families. But due to the reality gap, it's transpired into a sport, family get together, or whatever purpose we use deer hunting for. May it never go away. JMHO
