Default RE: Is deer meat really needed?

lemme just start by saying, i love to hunt just as much as the next guy/gal. probably even more so. however, im surrounded by friends and family that dont hunt. not that hey are against it, they just dont. and to be honest, i wouldnt wnat to walk next to the majority of them with a loaded rifle. some people just dont undersant the safty aspect. anywho, i ive never learned how to make a venison meal. the first deer i killed i made a stew and it made me sick. to answer your question charlie, no i dont butcher my own kill. i dont have the resources. so since the stew incident, ive been carfule not to relive that episode. so when i do harvest a deer, i just make jerkey, bbq the loins and chili from the ground. and i assumed everyone else did the same. i guess i need to find someone who knows how to handle and cook venison so i can learn. another thought, i dont want to experiment because i dont want to waste my meat.
