Default RE: Is deer meat really needed?

....who cares if beef is cheaper? This whole argument about "we don't need to kill deer since we have grocery stores" is completely without merit. Following that same logic, why would anyone ever plant a garden? Or go fishing? I hunt because I enjoy it... and I enjoy eating venison. And I don't expect it to taste like beef. Here's a news flash.... IT'S NOT BEEF! You don't cut into a pork chop and say, "Hey, this tastes "wild" because it doesn't tase like beef" do you? If you want to pay some stranger to do your slaughtering and butchering for you, then by all means do so. I do it, too, for my beef. I also have a taste for other meats besides beef, and I like knowing how to harvest and prepare my own game. And I also don't feel as though I need to justify my hunting to the "bunny people"... although I'm happy to do so.
Surprisingly, there are many vegans, and some vegetarians that understand and support hunting. Most of them don't like to see animals penned up in feedlots, and put through the rather brutal process of the slaughterhouse.....in other words, it's cruel to the animals. But taking an animal from the wild is understandable to them.
