But whatever you choose, stay with steel.

A note on the 336W. they have a "walnut finished"birch stock and is prone to swelling.
when the stock swells it swells on the hammer and will not fire.
If this happens within reasonable time after purchase Marlin will replace with Black Walnut at no charge to you, but you have to specify Walnut and that you bought a Marlin for dependability not failure.
