Default RE: Elite 4200 or Nikon Monarch?

You have to go up to about $700 to find a Leupold that compares to either.

The Zeiss Conquest is indeed better than a Monarch or an Elite 4200.

Here in Western Washington, we had 30" of rain in the month of November. Coincidentally, that's hunting season. Lot's of folks had to do their hunting in continuous downpours of 3,4,5 days. Many, many shops in the area got quite a few 4200s back due to internal fogging.

Now, I know most hunters will never face conditions as extreme as what we saw here. However, if I was going to spend my hard-earned $$$ on a scope, I think I would take into consideration that those same shops didn't get back a single Nikon, Burris or Weaver Grand Slam.
