This scope has been exposed for a year or two without any covers. What should I do as far as cleaning?

The local Bass Pro Shop and the Dick's Sporting Goods carry only the blizzard covers. Do these flip up manually. I know the standard covers have a red button to release the covers.

Do the standard covers seal better than the blizzard covers?
