Default RE: Deer Beds?...Help?

Well, it sounds like you're saying will they come back to the same "SPOT" to lay down again. At least that's what I read into your question. Deer RARELY...Lets say NEVER for all practical purposes lay down in the SAME SPOT. They bed in an area. In this case I suspect they're bedding in your little thicket. If it's small they may have just flopped in it for THAT time... but usually they like these little thickets and will flop in the same one or two every day. You were an intrusion and probably run them out. BUT, unless you do it daily or several times or days in a row they'll come back. It's better to hunt the fringes of these hideouts on trails to and from them. Slip in quiet and slip out quieter. I have literally seen deer come in to such places and managed to quietly decend with my tree between me and the deer and slip away undetected. The more you push it the more chance you have of running them off. If you find a place with a LOT of beds you can bet a lot of deer are using it. Some will always come back. Go for it.... the seasons is winding down. Do enough scouting and you can look at one of these places and KNOW there are deer bedding in it. You don't need to go in to find out. The evidence is all around it.
