I originally had a Nikon 440. It worked ok for bowhunting. Don't plan on using it the first or last half hour of the day as it's too dark to effectively range anything. Also, I used it rifle hunting this fall and couldn't range a deer at 250 yds. I just bought a Leica 700 from Cabela's ($349 right now) and am very pleased so far. Visibility in low light is much better than the Nikon.
