Gerber makes a diamond sharpener for the guthook. Its look like a screwdriver with the diamond surface on the shaft. You place the round shaft onto the guthook area and use it like a file or rasp. Works great and it will also do a great job on knives with serrated blades.
I'll second that... or use something similar and it'll get your gut hook sharp.
