Default RE: What do you do after you shoot a deer?

Step 1: SIT DOWN BEFORE i FALL OUT OF THE TREE!!!!!!!!!

I am usually shaking pretty good after the shot, so I need to hang the bow up and sit down so I won't fall, that would ruin all the fun that's about to happen

Next burn into my brain exactly where the deer was when I shot that arrow, cause it WILL look different once you're on the ground.

Next, check the time, then 20 minutes later check it again and see that only 1 minute went by [X(]

Finally get down quietly, sneak over to arrow that is hopefully in the ground covered with lung tissue, blood and bubbles. Then asses from there. Hopefully call home to get the draggers (aka my two sons) to head out. by the time they get there, enough time's past and off we go tracking.

With a gun shot deer they usually fall where I can see em, if not, treat it as above.

Oh ya, and don't forget the "happy dance" this is vitally important.
