Default RE: QLA removed? Results?

This is to no one in particular...

If you have a rifle with a properly done QLA section made into what is an otherwise good barrel - the QLA section should not negate the barrel's accuracy potential. It can and often does still create issues that a conical shooter will encounter - the buildup of lube, fouling, or any sort of residue from the loading firingprocess in that QLA sectionWILL induce inaccuracy to someextent. If you have such a rifle and it seems immune to such problems, count yourself as very fortunate. Of three Encores I have owned (plus a G2 209x45) only one had a washboard barrel and a poorly done QLA. There is no way it was ever going to be a good shooter with much of anything and certainly not with conicals. That rifle also had a horrible trigger that had to be reworked and a loose hinge pin that was replaced(maybe a hungover Monday or late Friday production ). It is also the only one of those four TCs done in stainless.

If you think QLA sections cannot DESTROY accuracy potential of what is otherwise a decent barrel, you are simply mistaken. I have yet to read of a complaint on David White's forums or elsewhere about his work and can't recall an instance where his work did not result in substantial improvement in accuracy achieved.
