Mossie - I agree. My two Black Diamonds, the Omega, and the Genesis all have QLA. And they all shoot very well. The QLA was originally billed as an accuracy enhancing feature - you get better initial bullet alignement when startinga projectile. It was an evolution of thecomponent bullet starting aligners used by match shooters.

I have "installed" the QLA in a number of guns, but have not yet ever received a request to remove one. As long as the barrel's QLAis bored out straight with a concentic internal crown, it should shoot.
