Default RE: Trouble with Revolution Broadheads

I shoot the Revolution also.

It is easy to put them on in the locked position! If you look at the collar closely. The o-ring groove is round, but there is another and smaller diameter groove with a little lip on it. So the blades can be on this lip when assembled on the arrow shaft. I dont know if this was disigned to be for practice mode or not but it sure does lock the blades down.

One thing I have noticed on the aluminum collar, Its very soft!
They have worn-in notches on it causing them to stick(by hand).
I have not shot it to practice with. Like some guys take and tie other mechanicals so they wont open when they practice with it.
These have not been practiced with only been in my quiver since last year when I bought them. I have no idea what caused it to bed itself into the collar, but it did. All I did was loosen the head from the arrow and rotated the collar to a new spot. When not in use I rolled the o-ring off and let them dangle freely.

I did have to find new o-rings, originals dry rotted and came off sometime after last years season.

On the deer I killed, It was a pass through and opened up perfectly. Ran farther then I would have liked. I found that when I tried to resharpen the blades, it was like picking your nose with snow gloves on Of course it might have been me

Another thing I noticed was the tracks that the blade ends travel in when the head opens up. If there is any dirt or crap in it it tends to hang up. At least when done by hand. I always check them by rolling the o-ring back and makeing sure everything moves easily back and fourth and smoothly.

Altough I killed my first deer with a bow this year with this head, I may not next year. I lost a deer two weeks ago, that I should not have. Perfect broad side shot, a bit higher then the heart but still well within the lungs. Tracked a very good blood trail for over two hundred yards in the dark.

I'll never know if it was the head or me so I cant blame it totaly on it.
