RE: Trouble with Revolution Broadheads
Buckshot, I feel the heads should be put together correctly right out of the package. That said, is is possible they were not. The reason I say this is that they are put together by hand, and humans can make mistakes. There is really no excuse for somthing like that happening, but stuff happens. Your theory about the hide slipping over the coller is a valid one. In fact the very first revolutions had a smooth coller, without the "ridges" they now do. The trocar style tip opens a larger hole than the actual size of the tip it'self. This is a byproduct of how it cuts, and stretches the hide. If you have some older heads with the smooth coller you may have had somthing like that happen. The new colllers where made to stop that from happening. I have shot revolutions into fress deer heads, and they opened everytime, and I agree with cargo, they do not "deflect" but rather "stick" when they hit and penetrate straight. I also agree with him that they are ticky to assemble, and make sure they are assembled correctly.
