Default RE: can any one tell me about the 454?

300wby.... The Ruger Super Redhawk chambered in the 454 Casull isn't hard to shoot and control.Ruger doesn't make a Redhawk in the Casull only the SRH.I have one with a 9.5" BBL and it shoots quite well. Allot better then I can shoot. The recoil to me in the SRH isn't any worse then the 44 Mag.The weight of the SRH calms down the recoil. If you get a pair of Hogue grips it tames it down even more. The SRH is very heavy and tiresome to carry for long periods of time.I haven't shot a deer with mine yet but I wouldn't hesitate shooting at 75 yards. The gun is capable of shooting much longer distances but I pretty much know my limitations. With a good rest I would go 100 yards or more.Another advantage is the 45 Colt cartridge can be fired through a 454 Casull. Before buying one see if you can try one out. If you are not bothered by recoil ,then the Casull would be a good choice for you.I know I like my Casull and would recommend one to experience shooters. Not a beginners handgun.
