Default RE: How long is your archery-deer season?

Michigan runs from oct 1st through jan 1st. Technically it closes for 15 days in nov, (nov 15th-30th) for the firearm season but a person can hunt with a bow during that time they just have to wear orange and abide by firearm season rules. A person can buy either a combo license which is good for two bucks, or a single license good for only one buck. Single licenses are designated for firearm season or archery season, and you can not go back and purchase a second license for that same season even though you are allowed to kill two bucks. If you elect to go the single license way, you will have to fill one tag during bow season and one during firearm season. If you want to take two bucks during the bow season, or two during firearm season you need to purchase a combo license. (weird rules eh?) Of your bucks only one buck can have less than four points on each side. The second buck has to have four or more antler points on at least one side. One can also apply for doe permits for public or private land until august 1st. And after sept 24th if there are any left over permits a person can buy them over the counter, one per day, until the quota has been reached for that deer management unit.
