Here is a pic of my little brother, the Dutch Oven King. When we are deer hunting, he makes sure we always have a hot meal waiting when we come in from the afternoon hunt. When we come in at noon from the morning hunt, he builds a fire, sets the dutch oven on the rack over the fire, throws whatever meat and vegetables we've got in the pot and puts the lid on. He has figured out just how much wood to put on the fire so when we return to camp at dark the fire is burned down and we have a hot dinner ready. Usually he makes Mulligan Stew, but this picture is a pot-roast he did this past Saturday. It makes it a lot easier to stick it out in that cold deer stand when you know a hot meal will be ready as soon as you get back to camp.
