From the few that I've made, out of doug fir with bubinga foot, I found that these arrows snapped in the middle as opposed to where the foot and shaft meet. My limited imagination concluded that this was a result of the nock trying to catch up with the tip, which had stopped rather suddenly. They broke in much the same way as would happen if you grabbed a shaft at each end and over flexed it. These were on self nock, ~32" shafts spined at 85-95# (at 28"
