The most important thing when hunting with bow.. is CONFIDENCE in your bow. Take your Jennings into a Pro Shop and have it re-strung. Check out there sights, rests etc. and ask questions. Aluminum arrows kill deer and are less expensive. You don't NEED carbon, you could get them, but you don't NEED them.
I took out a friend this year hunting for the first time. He shoots an old Golden Eagle he bought years ago cheap. On November 11th he had a nice little 6 point walk within 30 yards of him. He didn't shoot, wasn't confident in his bow. He made the right choice not shooting, but his bow cost him a great start to his hunting career. Confidence in your bow and your setup is very important.
