I'm toying with the idea of sellingan old30-30, my childhood 270,a couple muzzleloaders, and some other junk and putting together a long distance rifle (one you can carry).
I love Gunbroker.com, a very good site.
30-30 and .270 pretty much covers the deer hunting envelope.. how long a distance do you want to shoot, that the .270 can't reach? That said... I understand how it works, selling/trading to upgrade. I got my 30-30 by trading a 9mm FEG I didn't want anymore, and I'm glad for it. The buck I shot last week would have been hard to hit with the 9mm.
On the gun-nut/hunting obsession... I wish I could find a way to make them pay!
