Hate to say it but so far this week dont know how it works on deer havnt had a decent shot in the last 2 days and today its raining and fog so I didnt go out might this after noon. last yr I used the TC 245gr sabot and they work great on deer. [I have used the sabot for yrs]. As for scope I have a Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5X10X40 On my CVA wich I like alot and this scope has been on several of my guns including a .300win mag and has never given me a problem. Last week I put a sportview 3X9 on my buddies CVA and sighted it in for him so far it has held up and has had about50 shoots with pirodex 90grs under 245gr power belt. I have used fixed 6 powers on a few on my other guns and like them but jsut prefer the varables now days because my eyes arnt as good as they use to be. hope this helps
