Not to start anything Dan but why did you shoot her to begin with?Thats a pretty hide, and i would have done the same. And i wasnt there but its probobly good for you that you shot mom first and not a pup.(ever walk up on a baby coon in a cagetrap in early summer?)You could have been the second fatality in north america in history(according to record i guess)
Now wouldnt that be embarrasing!!!
First, the pictures I posted are from a large male I shot, not the female with pups. I have a pic of the female, but not on the computer. If I find it, I'll scan it an post it as well.

I shot her because it was the first wolf I had a chance to shoot in my life. I did not know it was a female with pups until after I shot her and my brother-in-law shot one of the male pups. The pups were 70lbs and she was 85lbs. There was not much difference in size, so it was hard to tell.

Yes, every one of the wolves I have ever shot have been legal. I have the tags, licneses and C.I.T.E.S. permits to prove it. What would I do if I saw one in WI. I'd be amazed at the sight, feel blessed that I got a chance to see the rare WI wolf, and let it walk away.
