Default RE: Range finder in a tree stand discrepancies?

ORIGINAL: awshucks

Did a little testing on this subject. Have two ladder stands 12' to platform, so standing up my bows are about 18' up, bear baits are at 17 yds, both the same coincidentally. Took target to baits and shot Emax at them. My 20 yd xhair was dead on. My personal belief is unless you are going way up the tree, it's much ado about very little.
I'm with Dan on this one. My main stand is 23 feet to the platform and that probably puts my CB right about 26 feet since most of my shots are sitting. The barn at my mother in-laws is right at 21 feet and I sit a chair up there and shoot off it for practice. My CB is sighted in on the ground and when I go up on the roof it is always right on. Some times it may seem to be an inch high butmost of the time its in the black circle of the block. Some people have different things happen up in the stand, but it never happens to me. As for you range finder I can not help, I have all my twenties and thirties marked off at all my spots so I do not use a range finder.
