RE: summit openshot treestand
I like the looks of the openshot. I have a 2004 Summit Clearshot. This one was replaced by the openshot I believe. The clearshot has a hand climbing aid and a comfy seat that swings up and is attached to the base. The openshot incorporates the seat into the climbing aid. I like this much better, because myclearshot seat squeaks some when I move the seat up and down. So far, the squeaking has not busted me, but I really like the openshot look. Some people do not like the fact that there is no cross bar like the Viper for example. I don't mind it a bit as I never have the base higher than 15-20' and I always have my full body harness on. They are versatile, handylittle stands that only weigh 16 lbs, IMO. You can hike in pretty far, and I can be from the base of my tree to 18' ready to hunt with all bow and accessory holders screwed into the treein under 10 minutes ...Great stand- go for it
