Default RE: Hog trapping

It is hard to beat corn and it is typically easy to come by. If you are just putting a trap in the area,I would recommend getting a bag of "Hog Wild" or "Hot Spot". Those products do help get quicker results. You can actually use the products alone and get hogs in but corn is much cheaper. Once you have the hogs coming to the feed, you do not have to keep addiding it. I have also use jello mix and other house hold products with sucess but I can't say they work as well.

Another good practice is to get the hogs feeding around and in and out of the trap before you set the trap. I like to see the hogs are very confortable intering the trap before I set it. Many times you will catch several on the first time and you can literaly set the trap in the evening and come back the next morning to get your pigs.

One last thing, ease into the area when checking the trap. If you catch the sow of the group many time the other pigs will be hanging around.
