RE: Do we get offended to easily?
I totally agree with David's posts. I am not near old enough to experience what he has, but I still agree. A lot of todays hunters are more concerned about a deer's score than anything else. I could care less what a buck scores, same for the friends that I hunt with. I'm more proud of some does I've shot than of some of my bucks. People post threads on here about asking what we would do, if we would shoot a paticular buck. I can't help but think that they are not truely happy unless thier buck is HUGE. Thats sad. If thats all they are "hunting for", then they have missed the boat. Watching the sun rise in the morning, the smell of honey suckle. Fresh breaths of cold air. Haveing a hawk fly in and land on a branch not 15 feet above you. Watching all of gods creatures come to life at day break or go to bed. Getting close to critters undetected. Spending time with family and friends. Those are just a few reasons for me to be in the woods. People need to take a close look at WHY they are hunting. Maybe if people took a closer look at thier values and why they are hunting to begin with, they would not get offended so easliy.
